Today I was digging up my garden while the chickens patiently hovered over every shovel scoop for bugs. One of those scoop was an entire nest of baby mice! Before I could even feel bad for what I did, those chickens gobbled them up! Then proceeded to pull the rest out of the dirt. I stood there for a second laughing because it was pretty **** brutal and amazing! So- now they are even more eager to snack and I can barely even put the shovel in the ground without getting close to their toes! By this time our two dogs caught on to what happened. Now I have 5 chickens and two dogs, which are 70-80lb rat hungry chicken sensitive pitbull terriers. After about two scoops in, 30-40 mice come running out of a hole! I stood back and watched- in slo-mo warrior scene style- all the birds and dogs work together and kill a **** load of mice!! After one dog shook one dead, a hen already had it halfway in her mouth! My husband was up talking to me over the fence just in time to witness the massacre and was wondering if thats going to digest properly. . . .? Im am pretty sure these hens are half vulture.
