I got a rose from one of my girls.

Someone laid a pretty rose/purple egg for me today. Valentines gift early.

Thank you! It came out of nowhere! I hope she does it again, whoever it was. I have a couple ideas.

Thank you. That makes two of us I could see it looked somewhat different when I took it out of the nest, it being the only egg, but when I put it in the carton with the others is when the color of it really popped

That egg color would start another fad. What breeds are your suspects? I'm assuming an EE.

Thank you. Well I have 6 total. The oldest three (by only a few weeks) were from a clutch of supposed EE. Only one of three lays a green egg. The other two pale. Those two also dont have any EE qualities to them and their eggs are pale, but the green egger is Patridge with dark legs, has a fifth toe, and feathered top hat. The other 3 are two red sex links and a Buff Orp. I'm thinking it could be Roadrunner, the only one with a blue gene, but it could be any of them. Hope she does it again.
