I need some help

so we have been using buckets for our ducks water for pretty much ever. Today randomly one of our girls got stuck and almost drowned. She is fine and warm now but should we be using something else? Is there an alternative? I don’t want this happening again

Do the ducks drink out of the top of the bucket? if not i would put a lid on the bucket.

I always used small, flat, rubber bowls - have several and switch them out when dirty or frozen.

You could put a board or something across half of the bucket opening so that they can still dunk their heads in, but can't climb in.

Tractor supply has black thick rubber bowls i use them work great.you can always use shallow rubber made containers they use for wrapping paper storage,or cut the bucket down lots of options,

I've been using laundry soap buckets and they've been working great. Also great for bailing out the pool. I put the stones around them so they can reach inside and dunk their heads easily. They have not tipped them over either.

Thank you everyone for your help.They do drink out of the top and I will talk to my landlord about all of these and see what he wants to try

I use(as lots of people say they use too) rubber tubs from tractor supply. They work great and the duck can hop in and out if wanted.

You could try the 5 gallon buckets with nipple waterers. I know lot's of people make them and there are lot's of videos. Apparently you can just buy them pre-made too! If you wanted to DIY it, just youtube it! Lot's of helpful tips on how to make them.
