I have had some OEGB roosters that were very friendly & liked to ride on anybodys shoulder & talk up a storm right in your ear.
You mean like my little guy Buddy here? He's such a little spoiled brat.
I agree, he's a BB red. I was told their fierce little boogers, but mine is only fierce when protecting the girls or the chicks. They have what I call "Napoleon Syndrome". They think they are ten times bigger than anything they challenge! Buddy bosses my Jersey giant roo around!
He does a little dance for me and loves to snuggle down with me under the covers.
Don't worry too much about him calming down. Buddy was half grown when I got him, and after being almost constantly handled, he's now one of the biggest pushovers in the yard. He still doesn't like being caught, but I think that's instinct. He doesn't mind it once I have him. He used to hop up on the fence to let me bring him inside. Even now, if he's perched on something, it's not much of an effort to catch him.
