Hi all! Just checking in from SE Iowa. New to the state, just moved from California and never been happier! Enjoying a state that has four seasons!

I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?1ofohq

Welcome to Iowa! Where in SE Iowa. I am near Riverside.

Did anyone buy a ticket for the Mega Millions drawing? I did, didn't even win a dollar

I bought ten and won back my $10.

Probably won't be going to Waverly. I have my obedience classes on Sundays - well not mine but for Tucker the trouble maker. I can mind when I want to =p Also the price of gas is getting redunkulous and I have to save up money for summer when I don't have a paycheck at all.

I'm in North English. My wife calls it the middle of nowhere but I like to think of it as half way to everything. I was in Riverside last weekend for a bachelor party. Well, not really a bachelor party. We're all too old for a real party. We went to the casino and I was home before dark lol.

Hi Everyone...I'm outside of Otho IA (by Fort Dodge). I hatched 14 eggs last week and 25 (24 survived) chicks shipped to me 4-3 from Whitmore Farms. I also put 17 eggs in the bator last night. My first time with chickens but when I decide something I go all out. Right now I have Anconas, Black Copper Marans (some Blue) , Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons, Welsummers, Lavender Ameracaunas/Orpingtons, Ameracaunas, 1 lonely Delaware and Polish & BCM's in the bator. I wanted a rainbow of eggs. Good thing we have a large family or I'll be getting real tired of omelets.

Sounds like quite a collection! I'm jealous! We have four red productions but I really wish we had a couple ameracaunas. Already thinking about expanding lol!

We got our first blue egg yesterday in well over a year. It came from a tiny, and I mean tiny, little black Ameracauna. She is Serama sized. I thought it was a cockerel at first. She was hatched Oct. 4th we were there the day she hatched and came home in a chocolate box assortment of chicks and is 1/3 the size of her peers, which are all bantams.

I was just contemplating moving her on to someone else! That has now changed since she is bird cage sized and a chatter box that does not mind being held. One of those fun chickens!

Chickens are so addictive! After reading about your blue egg, I found myself searching for ameracauna pullets online. I had to tell myself,"Don't do it! Just walk away, Albert! Be strong!"
Is there such a thing as Chicken Raisers Anonymous?

Yes, it's called Mahonri's Annual Easter Hatch

You'll meet a lot of supportive folks there. They will feed your habit like nothing else!

Welcome new folks! I was unable to post yesterday for some reason.
