I'm a newbie, please help!

The most important part of my coop was easy access to clean and gather eggs, so I can enter the coop through a door. I have a raised floor and rubber mats on top of the wood. I do not keep feed or water in the coop, I let my chickens free-range and leave the water and food in the pen area, there is also water placed in the yard that they can access, water jugs and a creek. I have a partial top on the pen that I use when the chickens are full so the dogs will not eat their food I put it on top so they have to fly up to eat when they are hungry. I use DE almost daily, which I add to their food and dust their coop with, in the picture the white inside the coop is DE. I feed DE to my dogs and I have a teaspoon daily with warm water. My coop will not make home and gardens but the chickens wouldn’t have it any other way, my goal was to make it affordable and serve its purpose.

Hi, I really appreciate everyones advice. This forum is great! I feel as though I have just gone through extensive training in the care and feeding of chickens. Now I want more chicks! My 12 year old daughter is just as into this as I am, but our grown sons tease us. That's ok, they'll change their tune once we have delicious fresh eggs! Wel I'm off to craigslist to find free building materials for our coop, I'll keep you all posted. Thanks again so much!
