Are you suure? I know it will be easier to be able to call them hens, but I don't think it is proper. I think people just do that because it's too confusing.

Well, I grew up in one, and visited the other as a kid with my parents.

I'm guessing you grew up in AK.

Well I think I have more Roos then hens..... Oh what to do?

They taste just like chickens.
I have 10 adult hens. After the weekend I'll have 5 roosters and 5 cockerels close to breeding age.
I have to make decisions fast.

Terrible...I don't have a clue what I'm doing. BIL set up a jig with a 1' overhang & soffits; I only want 6". Didn't realize what he'd done 'til I had the 1st one built & torn the jig down. Tried to downsize it & screwed up royally, wasting a lot of material in the process. Not been a good several days. I think I've finally figured it out, but ain't guaranteeing anything.

I was thinking you might be happier with a 1' overhang than 6" in the long run.
The more overhang the better in heavy rain climates. If not to protect windows, doors and siding then just a place to stand when caught in a cloudburst.

Late to the party, but I'll contribute. When I was 14 one of the guys from my church wanted to date. My parents staunchly refused a dating relationship, but they let him come over to have supper and play video games.

ALSO when I was 13 I was still reading books about pony clubs and playing with my barbies. I agree that 13 is pretty young, whether girl or boy.
