Hi all, I currently have 4 chicks that are a few days short of a week old.
I have three more chicks coming in two week from now (4/8/24)

Can I add the three new ones in with the rest of the gang or do I need to set up a second brooder next to it?
I feel like they are close to same age, but the new ones are Silkies and I'm afraid they might be a little weaker.

For reference current flock is Easter Eggers, Plymouth, and Wellsummer.

Thank you.

I have put chicks together that are two weeks apart in age before. It might be easier if you waited until the new chicks are a few days old before moving them in, so they'll be stronger. At this age, chick establish their pecking orders by whoever can stand the tallest, so aggressive fights isn't a concern yet. ;)

Great, thank you for your advice! They are being shipped (close location to me but still shipped) so I think I will set them up separate and make sure they get a lot of TLC the first few days before hand.
