I have a 26 week old pullet that prolapsed her oviduct trying to pass her first egg. The "egg" ended up being a lash egg. A week of warm baths and separation from the others we finally managed to help her retract her oviduct. She has been doing decently for a few weeks, but I knew it would enevitably happen. She tried again this morning. No prolapsed oviduct, but during a warm bath I was able to feel a lump in her vent. The material that came out was like a hard boiled egg. More than likely she's an internal layer.
It's obvious that she was not blessed with properly operating equipment. I know she is miserable, just as I am having to make the decision. Guess that's why I'm here.
Any thoughts or support from you all that have been in my shoes?
Thanks to all...
