Hi everyone,

Carolyn was getting attacked by our rooster so we thought separating them would solve the butt problem. But after being separated for a month Carolyn's but looks terrible. Could it be something other than fighting? She looks pale too.

Thanks,

Jason

What do you mean the rooster was attacking her? That looks like mating damage, along with maybe some feather picking. Those feathers won't grow back until she molts.

I mean a lot more than mounting. Vicious. Other hens were also attacking. Everyone seems to be getting along better since the separation.

So she won't grow feathers back until a molt? When does that happen normally?

Thanks,

Jason
