Yes they will sometimes calm down if they have company but they are constantly scouting an escape.

A lot of pheasant chicks are 'high strung'...sometimes they may calm down a bit but in general, and especially for ring necked pheasants, they remain 'high strung' their entire lives. They will pace the parameter of an enclosure constantly. That's why it is recommended that you landscape your enclosure to help prevent this behavior.
