Is this sapphire gem a boy?

Also, Barred Rocks are sexable because of the barring. A Sapphire Gem is solid colored, so it would not be sexable in the same manner.
Thank you. I did read that blue barred rock boy chicks have a dot on the head and this one didn’t have a dot so that’s why I wasn’t sure it was a rooster

No problem. I didn't know the Sapphire Gem is a sex linked (using barrs) chicken. So you are correct in thinking it should have a white door on its head if it's a male. However, you'r particular chick does look spot on like a cockerel.
