Got out and snapped a few pictures of my growing beauties, it was cold and windy this morning so they aren't in great stances, but you can see how they are growing out!

Better pictures today, I just love them!

Rain the cockerel, hatched Aug 30. He will be my keeper. The other cockerel, Thunder, has better coloring but a fairly severe wry tail.

Two as-yet unnamed pullets hatched Sept 10

Rinda at what age were you able to sex them and was there a defining difference?

The sex was pretty apparent by 8 weeks, but I had my suspicions about 6 weeks. Like most breeds, the comb size was the biggest tip-off. I also looked at their behavior towards each other and the size of their legs (cockerels often having thicker shanks than pullets of the same age). As an example, see below- a blue cockerel (Rain, my keeper) and Chocolate, a splash girl that passed away unexpectedly not long after I took this photo. See the definite difference in comb size? Also their stance- the boy just has a different attitude than the girl.
