Xylo slowly bled out, and would die soon. He felt kind of bad, but also triumphant. He had killed so many of the humans.
The servants who were taking care of him knew that his blood level was quickly dropping, and he wouldn't survive. Once they did all they could do, they left him to go tell the queen the bad news.
 
Lillia had been told about her mate's death, but surprisingly didn't cry. She didn't look angry either, or happy. She was just there, listening.

She was pretty much used to all of this death now, and people getting hurt. The fact that her mate was dead didn't really effect her all that much at the moment, she just wanted everything to be fixed. Maybe with the king gone, she could have more control over everything...
But no, she was supposed to be sad. Why wasn't she sad?

Lillia mental state felt all around messed up. She didn't know how exactly she was supposed to feel, because she should be sad but what was the point of faking it? She just had to make sure there were no humans, and everyone could be safe...
 
Acan strutted a little, proud of his actions. Even through all the hullabaloo, he realized there wasn't much else for him to do unless more humans showed up, so after preening himself a bit and cleaning his beak, he buried himself in his work. He was very glad that nobody tromped through the Queen's gardens again! He was soon to finish the biggest ditch for the garden irrigation project.
 
Lyra made her way inside and to the throne room, looking around quietly. It had been so long since she had been here and she was curious about the little changes as well as the big ones that she could see.
 
Rayko returned to the castles inner walls, as the bells started rang out with the news of the king's passing. He was speechless and shocked as his legs gave out on him. How could he have failed the queen so terribly. He should have been there faster to stop this tragedy. He sat in the corner of the court yard, filled with guilt at his failure.
