Ok, its a little different than what the title says, but yes, essentially I would like to keep goat alone. I know that the first rule of goat keeping is never keep a single goat. But, I was wondering if it would be feasible to keep a goat alone in a small pen next to a pasture of goats. That way, they could see each other and interact with each other, but be separated.
The reason I need them separated is because I show goats, and this particular goat will be a show doeling I need on a regimented feeding program. In order to have her in perfect shape by show season, and hold her there, she needs an individualized feeding program specified for her. Its very complicated, but the way I see it, if she's in with other goats, there is no way to know what she is eating and what the other goats are eating. I cannot feed the other goats her feed, since this feed is especially for show and very expensive, not to mention unnecessarily bulking for other goats.
Do you think this plan would work? I am curious to hear feedback. They could still interact through the fence, but just not get to each others feed. Thanks.
