I don't free range any of my birds, too many dogs and I keep my breeders pens pure.
If you look into the breed as a hole they are great at free range and should be as any other breed if you have a coop
with return to the coop for egg laying and roosting. My Lakenvelders are early birds to go to bed and the first to be up in the am.
There very sharp birds and would be a great addition to any flock.
mine return to the coop. you can feed them together they will sneak up and do a peak and run. I ended up seperating them for the winter, the rest of the year all my chickens run out the door the second I open it. I then put food out and they come and go as they want all day. some of the chickens wont be back until it starts to get dark others will be back and forth all day.
