Thanks again for all of the suggestions. We're just not going to go. A week is too long and my neighbors aren't the types to be invited into my home. Although these are MY people I'm still an American returning home after years and if you know anything about the 3rd World Americans aren't that popular right now if this is my country of birth or not. So again thanks and enjoy your summer!

Are there any clubs where you live, which are dedicated to the keeping and showing of chickens? If there are, surely there are people in that club who can advise you, and perhaps even offer help. Even an argricultire-related club (not devoted specifically to chickens) might be able to offer good advice.
