What type of rabbits are these?

Meat rabbits.

I've been wanting to change my stock to purebred anyhow, two breeds. I've got a supposed purebred Flemish Giant buck, but I'd like to cross him to a New Zealand or California to get the hybrid vigour.

Yes. Although I've checked 'her' many times. Guess I'll keep that one as a pet, because I like him.

Don't recommend NZs unless you're great at handling. They barely have scruff, and are pretty skittish, even when handled daily. Not sure about Calis though

I adored my NZs, they just were idiots on caffeine and speed. Have you seen if satins are avaliable? They're not typical meaties, but they do really well. I had a girl I crossed with my NZ buck and her babies were adorable and delicious

Satins are occasionally available.

There's also the matter of price. I would rather pay less for a common NZ than over $100 for a less common breed.

got mine as a cull for free since she was worthless to show or breed for show.
