LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

I'll probably stick them in the basement for winter (stays between 40 and 55F usually) if I keep them. Can they have a lid on if I do that, or do they still need light/airflow when sleeping?
If you go with a lid, make sure the soil is dry so it doesn't induce rot. I don't know off the top of my head if they need to freeze or not, though.

Okay. I could probably punch a few holes in the lid too. But if it has a lid, I can at least stack light stuff on them so they don't take up quite as much room as if they had no lid
 
I need name suggestions for these two. Preferably nature-based, but nothing too obscure (customers will be mostly little old ladies). Ribbon doesn't matter, it's just to hold the batt together, it's not part of the theme.
