life span of chicken

I have had a lot of fun with my chickens. I had thought they died around three years. I also thought they only laid up to the age of two. So, I got more thinking the old ones were soon to expire but they are alive and well.

My oldest chicken is 7. She still lays me a couple of eggs a week, too. There are others on here who have chickens older still! Good luck!

My oldest hen was a buff orp named Fat Blondie. She passed away just weeks before she turned 11 yrs old.
