Just bought two 2 yr old peafowl 2 days ago. When I got home noticed a little blood at top of one birds leg. Owner catching with hook. Looked, nothing unusual about leg other than that, walked and perched fine. Today went in to take care of birds and that peacock is limping on that leg. Lifts leg when standing. Any suggestions? Anything I can do? How long to wait to contact vet? Think injury might be just at the point ware feathers start. Best I could do for picture, could not attach video.

Owner additional info: I have used honey on open wounds on my chickens in the past but can’t see wound opening and peacock not tame enough yet to get a better look without stressing. He does seem a little talkative.
