Little deuce coop

Ok, so it's only one coop, but I like the song and the name Little Deuce Coop, so that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

My wife will be painting the name and a 2 playing card on the coop.

After two days in 95 degree heat, I've made pretty decent progress. I have to finish the roof beams, add some horizontal bracing and put in the door header and riser, but here's my progress so far. Once framing is done, I'll stain and work on running hardware cloth and installing paneling. I tend not to draw out plans ahead of time, so it takes me a little longer during the construction phase, but I often see things I want to change as I'm building. If the weather cooperates, I'm hoping to be chicken ready in about two weeks.

Excuse the mess. The yard is a war zone right now.

I LOVE that idea!

Not sure why I didn't think of just doing the car on it. I just put this together after reading your reply. My wife loves the idea too, so short of a little tweaking, I think this will be painted on the side of the coop.

Nothing too drastic changed, but I managed to get what's already built stained during the week. The weather was calling for rain, so I wanted to get a protective coat applied before the wood got soaked. I went with a nice log cabin looking stain that lets a lot of the wood grain show through.

Next steps are a roof, hardware mesh (which should arrive Monday or Tuesday), and walls for the coop. I only have Sunday to work on it this week, but hopefully I can get a bunch done.

Joining this site was worth it just for the logo ideas! Lol

I'll have to see if we can do a convertible deuce coupe with a chicken driving. My wife is the artist, so if I can find a couple of pictures that work, she'll make it look good, then we can use our projector to project the art onto the coop, size it as needed, and she'll paint it on.

if it is a convertible it won't be a duce coupe it will be a duce roadster.
