Hello there folks.

I have been looking for months for 6 Blue Australorp hatching eggs and I thought I may have found someone here but they haven't responded yet, so I thought I'd desperate post here. I haven't ever incubated eggs before but my noob incubator only holds 6 eggs, and it seems most people sell them by the dozen. (I know hatch rates vary dependent on weather during travel, storage prior to shipping, freshness, and other things).

My reasoning..... I have 8 RIR laying girls, and one 2 yr old RIR rooster. I also have 2 10 week old Buff Orpingtons. (I used to have 4 but two of them succumbed to Coccidiosis.) :'(

I am hoping to diversify my flock as soon as I can so the RIRs don't bully my sweet little Buffs who are still inside. (They are in an extra large doggie crate now and seem to be doing very well in it versus the cardboard brooder they were in before). We are working on a new building for them and it should be done within the next two weeks but I'm kind of afraid to put them out there in eastern NC heat and humidity when they've been in the AC for 10 weeks. (I didn't know Orpington breeds weren't as heat tolerant as others.) Plus, I'm definitely not willing to let them into the run area with the RIRs until they are at least full size so I'm kind of in a pickle there. Pretty sure they wouldn't do well so outnumbered anyway. I'm not sure if leaving them in the 8'x8' building with a fan and lots of ventilation would be ideal until they have friends to be integrated with the reds with? Dang, this post has turned into so many more questions than initially planned. So sorry. New chicken mommy here so I'm learning.

Anyway, I am specifically looking for 6 Blue Australorp hatching eggs first to get the gray color I want in my flock (I was going to get Lavender Orpington eggs but after learning that the Orpington breed isn't as heat hardy, I don't want to go with them and risk losing them to our climate) and then hope to incubate 6 black Australorps next.

I'm so sorry I'm so all over the place. Just trying to find some resources and feedback from folks that know what they are doing.

Thank you so much in advance for any help you can offer me. <3

We have bbs australorp hatching eggs available in the spring. which means that 50% will be blue, 25% black, and 25% splash. We also have lavender ameraucanas which have a gray color like you’re talking about. I added a few pics of those as well.

That sucks! We are getting 3 new lavender pullets this weekend and we are extremely excited to add them to our breeding pen. Even though we have 4 bbs breeds we somehow don’t have any splash chickens, i’m definitely keeping some of the ones we hatch this spring!

Can I PM you regarding these?
