I understand now. I personally think the hybrids are not as nice... There is nothing that special about the hens. A mix will have some features of both.

I have to agree, I'm not a fan of the Lady Amherst/Golden crosses. I don't understand the desire for these birds that I seem to see everywhere

i think some people get told that they are pure of one kind when in reality there mixed and then they get stuck with them and dont know the difference..when you get your hands on so to speak and get to work with different breeds you can see the difference between the two...some pictures online are very misleading when you look up what each type of bird looks like..and when you see them in person look totally different then in the pictures...and alot of people dont have pure f1 birds and they trade them at shows as pure and then they get passed on and mixed....
