Just buried the 2nd hen (salmon favorelle) to hawk attack. Looked out my kitchen window and saw feathers again UGH! this time the sucker was still on top of the bird eating with my mini horse standing right there pawing at it. I threw my shovel at it and it just flew on top of the corral panels, threw my shovel at it again and it hit the panels, hawk flew about 40 feet away on a fence post and watched me. He stayed there till I buried it then flew back to heavily wooded trees about 1/4 mile away

Darn predators, I got chickens to free range, eat the nice green pasture and bugs to give me beautiful nice eggs in my secure pasture from ground predators but there is not a darn thing I can do about sky predators. I guess my plan is to lock them up in the coop+coop yard and hope the hawks thinks is easy free meal is gone?

I suggest you fix things so the darn hawk can't land or take off easily.

No wide open spaces and plenty of places for the birds to take shelter, like shrubs or low to the ground trees.
