MarineCorpFarmr Egg BOMB, A new Beginning! Follow along in his journey to a new flock!

Does anyone have lavender orp eggs? Or something that looks like a lav orp? LOL...13yo dd wants one for a pet, but likely won't know if it isn't exactly a lav orp.

The eggs I just set may have a couple Lav Am's. Anyway I got the from @chick-among-us . Here in this Auction thread. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/754077/just-in-time-hatching-egg-auction-and-bin-thread/1940 I got hen's choice. Not sure if she will be putting it back up again but she does sell from her farm page also I do believe.

Frizzles are ADORABLE! I want some but the husband says no. Emphatically. So I told him his choices were frizzle chickens or Sebastopol geese. Heh. I see geese in my future.

I think you need both frizzles and geese. If I had to choose between the two, I'd pick the Sebastopol geese. They're sweet, intelligent, and gorgeous.

Good Luck!

Those are what I wanted the most, but I've read that they really need a pond to upkeep those beautiful feathers, so I ruled them out

Then I wanted Toulouse...but I read they can be fiercly protective, and not so great for kids (even though some people say their great)....Pomeranian's were noted for the aggression, so that left me with American Buffs which are friendly, and the Pilgrims, which are friendly & auto sexing, so I'm going to go with them. I guess I'll be ordering hatchery because I've placed ads to see if anyone's hatching them around me and not a peep. The closest I found was a 2 hr. drive.

I did some double checking with some people I know who've had them and they said a large-ish kiddie pool is fine. I'm only getting a pair, so if the pool doesn't work out I can still dig out a small pond. It'll give me something to do during lock down and hatch! Lol

I have a pair of sebastopol geese and they don't have a pond. They have a kiddie pool during the spring, summer, and fall months. I take down the pools for winter. The gander's feathers are a bit messy, but not too bad. He's still beautiful.

White Sebastopol goslings can usual be sexed by down color.

Mine are incredibly friendly. The follow me around the yard and always want to snuggle. My goose even likes going on car rides with me.

How about we compromise and you get both sebastopol and pilgrim geese. and you might as well get a pair of buffs as well.
