Molting??

How many molts do Pekins have? And when??

Some of our ducks molt 3 times a year and some once, so there is no for sure answer.

I remember the Runners molted at about 10 weeks, right after their first adult feathers came in . . . then after that, everyone got on her own personal schedule. Sometimes they'll go a year and a half. Sometimes they molt in midwinter.....

Stress can induce a molt, too.

Our buff hen molted her wings three times this year, mainly because she was broody twice.

I have feathers everywhere all of a sudden. We recently moved... & Flossys whole bum foot thing going on. Maybe it's stress.... idk.
