Monstera

Hello BYC, I have just received two monstera plants for my birthday. I love monstera plants. I’ve had them for about two or three days and the leaves are kind of dusty. I was wondering what I should use to clean them off. I’ve seen a few mixes like soap and Hydro peroxide with a whole lot of water, but I’ve never had monsters and I really don’t want to kill them. Also, I’ve heard you need fertilizer for them every month or so. What kind of fertilizer do you think I should use?

Help would be appreciated thank you!

Lovely! I'd think you could just dry dust the leaves, or use a damp cloth or paper towel if the dust is stubborn.

Thank you I made a sort of solution that I am using, and it seems to be working well. I used it on my pothos too.

Hi, some people wipe the leaves with a soft cloth dampened in water with a few drops of milk added.

Thank you! What does the milk do. I’ve heard of that a few times and it sounds a bit strange.
