How upset will they be if take away their nest they've set on for 3 weeks now ? No more Ducks Please.

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Three weeks? The eggs (if they are fertile) should be hatching soon.

If there are no fertile eggs then yes they'll be very upset but it has to be done.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X2, they should have stopped laying if they have been setting for three weeks. Some do get upset when you take the eggs, but they do seem to get over it pretty fast, especially if you take/remove the whole nest so they don't have any place to go back to.

We're glad to have you.

They should have stopped laying by now. When my chickens go broody, they stop laying within a week or so and don't lay again for a couple of weeks.

Welcome to BYC!

You will find a lot of good information here. Keep on asking questions and you will get many good answers.

You may also want to read the FAQ below.

You should be able to go away from time to time. You may have to hire a ducksitter to make sure they have food and water or put an automatic feeder and waterer in place.

Thanks so much for your reply...Muscovy incubation is 43 days...eggs are all infertile as I keep nasty Drakes separate...their setting I was hoping would stop egg production ?
