My chickens were just attacked! Can I help her?

My friend had a hen with a pretty bad wound (near her neck). She did all the washing/antibiotic etc. she had to be kept inside away from flies for quite some time, but today is perfectly healed. Best of luck!

Thank you everyone for your help. Sorry I didn't get back on here sooner with an update. One thing led to another and I didn't get much sleep for quite a while being on coyote duty. Wow just when you think you have learned enough about chickens, you get another crash course. "Olivia" as she has since been named, is doing great. She is still in the house at this point, but the horrendous gash is now mostly closed to the size of a golf ball opening now. She has been a sport I must say and by now is so spoiled she hangs out at the frig when she wants something to eat and acts just like a puppy. I am so thankful for BYC and the helpful advice you guys were so quick to give. Don't know what I would have done.
