Need help ,what killed our chickens.

We have lost 2 in the past couple of nights.One the body cavity and head was eaten,the other just the around the groin.Iam thinkig racoon,but what else could it be?

We lost half our flock last year. We thought it was a raccoon, but it turned out to be a mama fox.

Time to set the trap, and make sure every one and every thing is locked up tight at night. It could be both of those.

Look for footprints or signs of digging (or climbing). If you have a fence, a raccoon will sometime drag a chicken over the top and leave a trail of feathers (I've seen this personally when I arrived home late and was going to lock my flock in) Then set up trap near the point where they are breaching your enclosure or coop. And be prepared to dispatch whatever you catch. Good luck
