Need to put chicks together. How?????

We have 10 month old buff Orpingtons and 4 and 1/2 month old EEs. They have always been in separate sections of the chicken coop. It would be in everyones best interest if we could put them all together. The EEs are almost as big as the Orpingtons but, not quite. I know about the pecking order but, when we put them together they started picking on one of the EE roos. Well we tried to let them fight it out but, the Orpington bit till she drew blood. Well we put them in separate sections. How do we bring them together without someone getting hurt????

When I need to introduce new chickens to each other, including new babies, I put the the new ones in a wire cage for 4 days to a week. That way the old flock gets used to them being in the coop. When I let them out of the cage, there is some "pecking order business", but nothing very alarming.

Try combining them at night. Always worked good for me.
