new chicken quarintine time-what are you watching for?

I hear that before you add a new chicken to your flock you should quarantine them for a bit to make sure they are not going to infect your flock with disease etc... what am I watching for exactly?

Loose stools, bugs crawling, eye or nasal discharges, lack of energy, basically anything abnormal from behavior to appearance to appetite.
