New pea hen today !!!!

HI, You will get 50 % Indiablue split to blackshoulder and white (usually with a couple of white flight feathers and may be a white throat patch also) and the other 50 % The same indiablue split to blackshoulder as well as pied (with a white throat patch, may be 1-2 white flight feathers also) . Assuming the Indiablue is not split to blackshoulder, Neither blackshoulder nor pied chicks at all if you are expecting any. Also if the pied hen carries a white eye gene, some of the same chicks show white eyes in the tail feathers. Remember when the pied hen carries two copies of the white eye gene , then she will be a silverpied instead of being a pied hen. This is in the first generation. The segregation in to India blue, Blackshoulder and Pied , white etc will occur in the second generation when the siblings are inbred.
