We will not have time to build a separate henhouse in time to get our new chicks, so we are thinking about housing them in a small barn (16 x 16) where our two goats live. We are not sure how to do this exactly, but were thinking of constructing some nesting boxes behind a fenced off area. However, they still need to get from the yard into their area in the barn and I'm just wondering if they will be intimidated by the goats. I have no idea how the goats will react to them or anything. Also how old do chicks have to be before they can go live by themselves in a barn? We will keep small chicks in the house or garage until they are ready (whenever that is).

Thanks!!

Well my goats get along fine with the chickens but they are not housed together. I would wait until they get pretty good sized before letting them out to share with the goats.....

Thanks! I have been doing some googling and it looks like it's not a good idea for several reasons. I'll have to rethink this.

I'm not sure I put this in the right forum either. Sorry!
