Where hatching another batch of dominecker in next couple days started lockdown early this morning. We had a friend tell us that your not supposed to feed chicks for 36 hours after there born. I would think the sooner the better.
How long do you recommend leaving chicks in incubator after hatch?
Also should you feed them ASAP or just give water first??

I would feed the babies after they are taken out of the incubator. While it's true that they can survive up to 3 days without food or water, I still would feed them right away. When you take them out of the incubator, dip their beaks in water, then put them in the brooding box, which should have water and food inside.
As for the incubator, I would keep them in there till they fluff up.
