I picked up a hen today. My brain said “leave her,” but my heart said “you cannot leave her.”

This hen has broken feathers, bald spots on her back and vent. I assume from over-mating? She has lots of dander, sort of like a molt. Her comb is not a good color. She went Kamikaze running back and forth, slamming her head against the hardware cloth and cracked her beak. Obviously very stressed. I will try to check her over more tomorrow, she makes it very difficult.
In my fantasy world, I want to heal her, have her love me. All sugar and spice.
In my real world, I don’t think she will adjust and although she is isolated right now, I cannot have her passing anything to my healthy flock.
I contemplated taking her back (which is a hour drive), a friend thinks I should just cull her.
Thoughts?

Can you isolate her for a week or so? Beaks are resilient and heal pretty quickly. Looks like she may have mites, the feathers and bald spots may not be just matting but picking at it from hitching. Plus her comb looks discolored which could be anemia from all those mites. Easy to treat with poultry dust.

What I would do:
Warm epson salt bath, blow dry her
Apply poultry dust, under wings and all
For her beak, disinfect and apply cover up lotion. "Pick no more" from" Rooster booster is really good for beak and feet.

Isolate her for a week or so. Calm and quiet can do a lot too.
