North Idaho / Eastern Washington

we/I have too many animals to be traveling and it cost $$$ which we are spending on our home. this is what we prefer right now.
I have a girlfriend we have known ea other since we were 11yrs old and she lives in Ft Myers, FL on Pine Island just north of Sanabel Island, FL. they are on the gulf coast. i went to visit her in June or July back in the 80's and that was not a good time to go... too hot and too many mosquitos for me. but it is a beautiful State and the beaches and the humidity make it tropical and such a different feeling than the west coast...
You are very close to everything, sounds like you live in the city.
moving and changing your lifestyle is a very important step to make, i can understand your father not wanted to make such a big change; moving from one coast to another, that is a loooooong way to move and uproot your family. and then there are friends, family, church family, etc. some people have a difficult time making changes. me and my dh are very adaptable.
where we live we get about 2-3' of snow, but where some of the other ladies on this thread live they may get 4-6' of snow??? and it stays for a few months. i prefer the snow than the mud... when the snow melts and then freezes again and turns to ice, that can be very dangerous walking around our property going out ea day to tend to animals...
Well, it is very nice getting to know you, you sound like a very intelegent and friendly young lady...
P.S. we do have concerts and places to go for good entertainment, it just may be a further drive than 15mins. but we prefer that...
take care and post pics of your chickens, we would love to see them.
I noticed you have been a BYC member for 8yrs... wow!! i have only been on here for 1.5 yrs, i think... what threads do you hang out in?
talk to you later
I wish we had 2-3' of snow. We only get several inches and roof blowing off wind in my neck of Eastern Wa.

@Gypsy-Girl Hi, wat breed is your avitar pic. it is a pretty bird.
Sorry for the delayed response! Thank you so much! He's my favorite! My terminology may not be quite right, but, he's a bantam red, black laced Cochin. He was just a kid in that picture. I still need one of him fully grown but this is his "Growing Up" collage! (yes, I may be a little crazy...)

I am looking for someone knowlegable about show birds. I know I don't have top quality birds but, would like to keep what appear to be the best and work my way up. If someone can come out to my place, that is great, but willing to travel a bit for the help.

I am in the Yakima area

Even if it's not non-GMO or organic, what about feed that is a high-quality and has animal protein in it? I would like to keep it as natural as possible but I know that every kind of feed has its drawbacks.

I have a few white bantam roosters, a silky (50%)/black sex link(25%)/bantam mixed breed(25%) rooster (has all sorts of barring and pretty colors with a black base), and an Appenzeller rooster. All free of course. Had more earlier this year, but we've been trying to keep up on butchering.

Oh yayyy! Could I message you and see if we could meet up :) I truly miss having fertile eggs ,and I really wanted to incubate one last time this summer :D I didn't realize just how important my roo pepper was until I lost him . I'm in spirit lake .

It depends on what sort of music you like. We actually get tons of rock/metal shows here in the Spokane/Coeur d'Alene area and the casinos get a lot of different kinds of shows. We are not 5 hours to the ocean, though. More like 8 to Seattle or Portland. Pretty much, if you live rural or in the mountains you're gonna get snow over here. Unfortunately, if you want to have decent access to stuff, you pay out the nose for property here. Even a decent spread way out runs $250-350k.
what area are you talking about. we live south of CDA and we spend under $200k for 52 acres w/a nice house... rural area mind you... but this is what we wanted. it is beautiful everywhere here... just need to look and see what your preferences are??

We have been looking out near St. Maries mostly, more to the east. And I'm talking about having a nice house, maybe a barn or a few outbuildings and averaging about 25-80 acres. The price range for that runs about $250+

Real estate fluxuates, weekly, monthly, annually. and some areas think their real extate is worth more at times... that is why we must keep searching constantly...
