October hatch "Grow-a-long"šŸ„

Pics
Iā€™m creating a new variety/color of Dā€™Uccles. Itā€™s called Brown Red Mottled DUccles. The chicks I shared are F2s of the project. I can share pics of the grandparents, parents and grow outs if any one wants to see them!:)

They donā€™t have any Cochin in them. Theyā€™ve got about 1/4 of Japanese in them and the rest of the % is Dā€™Uccles. Theyā€™re are mottled ones and a few regular colored ones (Mille Fleur) because I havenā€™t got my project to breed true mottled yet. I think, I may be wrong, itā€™s because the Mille Fleur (gold columbian pattern) is a recessive gene, I think.:)
Oh yes do share! Sounds exciting!!!
I've got cochin and d'uccles I'm trying to incorporate into my breeding for mille fleur and porcelain to eventually have mille fleur and porcelain Satins!

This was the rooster I was going to use for the project until he passed away. Iā€™m glad I didnā€™t use him though and bred for a new rooster. He had to muck leakage, not enough mottling and had the Mille Fleur featheres, he also didnā€™t have muffs.

Oh! Those f2s are looking so good!!! How many hatches did it take u to get to this point?! I'm told to be prepared for hundreds of chicks and only end up with a handful good outta that!

Wow, very cool looking birds! The last picture almost has a hawk-like vibe going on. Maybe that'll keep the predators away haha!

3 weeks tomorrow, they look so small compared to some of the ones being posted! The one has such orange legs!! They are starting to fly around a little, my youngest calls it turning on their zoomies!

They remind me of our Easter Eggers as chicks! What breed are they? Sorry if you had already said, I hadn't been keeping much track of the conversation around here!

They are, at least two of them anyways. Two hatched from mint green eyes and one (the one with the orange legs) hatched from a small brownish/pink almost round egg.

I had 5 eggs hatch (keep the 3 girls) from the same flock in July and this is how they turned out (their siblings). 2 have full beards and muffs (cream/silver and blue) and the golden one I am not sure her mix.
