Just working out the details and hopefully have them by next month.I finally found it and it looks like they have a new home. I already have 17 Knobby so you could have had them and I wouldn't have been hurt a bit, lol.
Wow, cool that you saw stars. We did not see anything like that as it stayed too light. It got dark like dawn, but not completely dark. Was able to see stars and the temps did drop a bit.
Oh my Goodness so you did get them. I saw where someone near Groveport wanted them so I thought that they took them. I hope they work out well for you.Just working out the details and hopefully have them by next month.
Yeah, that was me. I currently have a paired mallard ducks that swing by our pond, so I keep a look out for a nest.Oh my Goodness so you did get them. I saw where someone near Groveport wanted them so I thought that they took them. I hope they work out well for you.
There have been times I have wanted to get rid of my Mallard Drake. He was supposed to be a runner from Rural King but does not have the white ring around his neck but is beautiful. He is less than a year old. It's hard to rehome drakes. He likes to chase my Mule Duck around and she constantly has to hide from him. That's the reason I have thought about sending him down the road.Yeah, that was me. I currently have a paired mallard ducks that swing by our pond, so I keep a look out for a nest.
I don't understand what the problems are with keeping drakes and/or roosters. They are just instinctively living out their lives the only way they know how. That's why I have no issues taking in drakes/roosters.There have been times I have wanted to get rid of my Mallard Drake. I totally agree but when he chases her constantly and she has to hide on something high off of the ground to get away from him I just feel bad for her. He is being better with her right now and I know this is instinct for him, I just hate when they have a favorite out of a bunch of hens and pester it so badly. I am glad that you can take them in and have no issues. I do have a large pen and here lately he has been better with her. If she could free range on acreage things would be better I am sure but I am not setup that way unfortunately.I don't understand what the problems are with keeping drakes and/or roosters. Yeah I agree...the more room they have to roam, the easier a hen can get away from an overactive rooster/drake.I totally agree but when he chases her constantly and she has to hide on something high off of the ground to get away from him I just feel bad for her.
