This chick has me stumped. Purchased as an olive egger. Chick is 6 weeks old. Barring, that is more white. Legs are yellow with black. Comb reddish and wattle visible. The feed store I purchased from uses 2 hatcheries. I have looked at both of their websites. One hatchery olive eggers are cream legbar cuckoo Marin crosses. Other hatchery EE and either Barnvelder or Welsummer. Chick was black with white when picked up, so guessing from first hatchery mentioned. Thinking it’s a male, but seem to be some conflicting identifiers. Thoughts?

I’m my opinion, barred rock rooster. Not sure about breed but it’s definitely a boy
I agree, this one has a lot of white which generally is an indicator of barred rock roos (the double baring of the feathers makes them appear more white/lighter)... But not all hope is lost. You said you also grabbed barred rocks? My OE with unknown parentage looked a lot like a barred rock chick maybe your OE is undercover 😎

That said, I'm in the same boat and holding a small candle that this one is still a pullet with just a large comb 😬

In my opinion it looks like a Dominique

Here’s some updated photos, at 8 weeks. Waiting for the crowing start, then will have to go😕 No roosters allowed.
