Do you cross naked necks with silkies to get showgirls or is it more complicated than that?

The Naked Neck gene is dominant so you can get the heterozyous expression of it right away. They are called Bowties because of a spot of fluff on the neck. Sometimes you need to repeat a breeding with a Silkie to get the crest and fluff to improve. And most work toward getting the homogenous NN gene for a completely bare neck. They are Showgirls right off but obviously F5 Showgirls are going to tend to be more refined than F1's.

Except that the Silky gene is recessive, which means no silky-feathered birds in the F1 generation. Just Silky gene carriers.

Current offer:
Offer: 6 Naked Naked
6 Easter Egger (I have 2 roosters in the run with 15 hens, this pen also includes a few crested {part Polish} hens which are the best layers of the EE).
or Combo of NN and EE.

Plus they have straight combs and a variety of problems. There is a picture of some recent silkie/turken crosses on the showgirl thread. They look like turkens that have a bit more volume. Cute but not anything like a sg.
