I ordered some from McMurray and they are supposed to arrive a week from now. I have never received chicks through the mail and my husband was amazed that this could be done.

I got chicks from McMurray and I am in Alaska! I did not think the shipping was that expensive. My chicks came with 3 dead and then I lost about 6 more, (they were in tough shape) but McMurray was great in replacing them and the 2nd batch came through much better.

My ducklings came from Metzer Farms, excellent condition, especially considering that I am in New Hampshire and they are in California! All alive and a little water was all it took to perk them up after their trip.

We ordered 2 batches of chicksin 2009, and have another order in now from Meyers Hatchery in Ohio, but we have just driven there to pick them up, never had any shipping. The birds have been healthy, and the employees helpful.
