Paint X Partridge Silkies... what colour are these chicks!?

I aquired a few Silkie eggs on part trade for some hens, and they started hatching this morning. They came from a pen with a Paint rooster, 2 Paint hens, and a Partridge hen (if I remember right though she was smooth, making her a possible mutt). I’m working with Paints this year, so I planned on getting rid of any of the chicks that came from the Partridge hen. Last night a handful of them hatched, one definitely a paint, and two either white or a smutty white almost porcelain colour (blue/gold/yellow mixed), but I also ended up with these two...

Chick #1

Chick #2 (look at that vault!)

In person the #1 looks mostly blue, with a very prominent yellow face mask, and pale yellow legs and wing tips. #2 also has a similar mask and light spots to #1, but it’s back is darker with red smattered throughout, so it may be closer to the partridge colour once it’s fluffed up more.

I know breeding partridge into paint and introducing red is not desirable, any host of colours could pop up, which is why I was going to rehome any of the chicks that came out of that breeding to pet homes, but now I’m a little intrigued...
I tried a google search, but none of the chicks I found look quite like these ones. I’m not very knowledgeable in Silkie colours, and being that these are not ideally colours that would be bred together, I figured I would ask the experts 😉 and see if anyone had any educated guesses about them?

I will post pictures of everyone once they’re in the brooder 😊

One of the smutty white/porcelain. Now that it is dry I can see it has a red stripe down it’s back.

And a group photo 🥰 (it’s a little dark, but the the colour is more accurate in this one). I love how marked the little paint is! Seeing the white (?) next to the paint makes it’s blue and red colouring more apparent.

I’ll be following g this thread. I have my red roo in with my paint, splash and black hens, just for my own fun. So I’m interested to hear peoples thoughts on your chicks colourings

I haven’t gotten any feedback on them yet, but now that their wings are coming in it’s looking like I have a traditional partridge, a blue partridge (#1), a possible silver partridge (#2 - her feathers are looking black with taupe chunks, but laced in white, it’s bizarre), a blue cream/porcelain (seen in my last post, I’m really excited to see how she turn she out!), and a splash. But I won’t know for certain until they’re a little older. They’re making me want a project pen :lau. I will post updated pictures in a few days.

The other 3 chicks I have are paints, and presumably from the paint X paint pairing.

8-9 days old now...

#1 - calling this one blue partridge for the time being. It’s wings are blue, with white and taupe lacing.

#2 - looks like she will have satin feathers like her mum unfortunately 😔, her colour is beautiful though! I may keep her for a project pen 😉

#3 - blue/cream or porcelain. Her wing colour reminds me of when the powder rubs off of butterfly wings. She’s gorgeous, and a complete sweetheart.

#4 - splash? The more it’s feathers grow in, the less certain I am... it may just be blue?

#5 - I though this one was just partridge, but it now looks like it may be blue partridge as well.

Awe...I love #3...I bet it’s colouring is going to be beautiful! They r all super cute though :love
I started collecting hatching eggs yesterday n will fire up my incubator on Friday. Excited!

She’s a doll. As soon as I lift her out of the brooder she just goes limp, legs dangling, and when I put her on my palm she proceeds to get comfy and wait to be pet. #5, however, is a bit of a stinker 😂 , even though I socialize them all exactly the same. It’s funny how they all have their own individual personalities, almost as soon as they hatch.

I’m curious to see what yours will look like, you’ll have to keep me updated!

I will for sure! 😀

#2 (Elvira) & #3 growing into their feathers ❤ These 2 are my favourite of the bunch. The porcelain is still the friendliest, oddest, chick I’ve ever raised.
I'm hoping they’re not both roos, because that would be just my luck lol.
