I gave raised chicks for years, mostly silkies.I always have a few with pasty butt, incubated and from broodies in the coop.I gave tried ACV in the water ground up oatmeal in the chick feed, heat from 95 for newly hatched but at other end if broader is 85 if they are to warm.I hate having to stress them out cleaning their butts all the time.Any suggestions?

Reduce the temp actually. Pasty butt is usually cause by 1) stress 2) heat. So you might want to reduce the heat a few degrees.
I would think the 10 degree difference from one end to the other would work,if they r to hot they move down a little. The stress may b from changing the paper towels twice a day, they poop a lot,lol
