Pea pods?

I'm sitting here shelling peas, and looking at the growing pile of pods.

Anyone ever do anything with the empty pods? Other than give them to the chickens?

(I'm the only one in my family that likes peas, so by golly, I'll grow them and shell them and eat them myself. I just wonder if I could use the pods for something.)

I googled uses pea pods and found that right off... good luck

You can feed them to the chickens or put them in your compost pile.

There's a book by an Englishman about living self-sufficiently and he uses his pea pods to make a drink. He ferments them with sugar and lemons. I haven't tried it but it's certainly a different idea.
