Hi,
Rabbit Alert!!
Does anyone in the Westmoreland County area have new Zealand or Californian breed rabbits?
Thanks,
Karen

Getting plymouth barred rock, black sex link, and welsummer. Want to get ameraucana still... Want other breeds but don't want too many birds this first yr. thanks for the welcome yall!

One more fluffy chick today. That makes 4. She is still sitting tight though on 4 eggs. I know she stole them so I don't know how far along they might be if they are even Ok. Will she get up when she believes they are done? I figured I'd give it till Wednesday at the latest. I've read that some can go as long as 25 days. Given the fact that she may not have been sitting on them as long as the others. Also had to clean a huge Broodie poo out of the nest, blah!! Couldn't get any good pictures yet.

I have an area just like this, it may seem like a waste to buy a product and dump it on the ground, but that is exactly what I do in this spot,,,I buy the PDZ, it is a stall refresher, suppose to take the ammonia smell out of horse stalls, well I just scatter this on the ground and let the birds scratch it in
Coop the birds and dump a bag of Equine Fresh in the run. Rake it around. It comes in pellets like feed. When it gets wet, it bursts into damp sawdust.
It also has chlorophyll in it so it deodorizes. I had a yard of Marans once years ago. They dug a dusting hole in the yard. I had the tarp off the yard done day and it rained. Oh the smell! It was revolting! I went to Tractor Supply looking for stall freshener and found the Equine Fresh.
Took it back home and dumped it in the hole. Within a minute or so, I had a sweet smelling flat surface of damp sawdust. The chickens didn't try to eat the sawdust. But keep them in the coop while you fix the run and check for unexploded pellets. A rake works well. I can use it to build up an area of damp sawdust on which the birds can walk.
Best,
Karen
I think this is TSC's version: Be sure to ask and make sure it bursts when wet like Equine Fresh.
