Pheasants in California

Is it illegal to own pheasants in the city? I live in California btw

Every city and county has their own regulations about what and how many animals are allowed, so you will have to search for the ordinances for your city. Enforcement is usually initiated via neighbor complaint about noise or smell (or just plain meanness), so if you have nice neighbors and a few quiet birds that you keep hygienically, maybe it would be okay... Not advocating breaking the law, but you know how CA can go a little crazy with regulations.

Thank you and I know California is pretty but it sure is a pain in the *** with all these permits,rules,laws and regulations
