Hi! I just hatched these polish babies a few days ago, but since they’re my first polish chicks I’m not familiar with identifying the coloring. I hatched them from a mixed batch of eggs, so I don’t really know what I ended up with. The possibilities as far as I know are
• White Crested Black
• White Crested Blue
• Buff Laced
• Candy Corn
I don’t know if mixed color breeding (like a candy corn roo with a buff laced hen) can produce random mixed colors in polish like in other chickens, so I don’t know if some of these are just random color combos. I’d really appreciate some help. TIA!

photos 1 and 5 look like black crested white
2 and 3 look like they might be buff laced? I’m not completely sure, 3rd looks bearded though.
4 looks like a golden laced polish maybe, also looks bearded.
I’m just guessing, do you know anything about the parent stock?

Yes, mixing colors in Polish works just the same as with other breeds, so some of these may be of mixed coloring if you had different varieties of hens and roosters together.

The first one has a spot on the head, so I'm guessing it is at least part candy corn, since the spot indicates barring and only candy corns have that of the varieties you listed.

The second and third are probably buff laced mixed with some other variety. Buff laced Polish have the gene for dominant white, so their offspring will cover black or blue. Meaning if you crossed a buff laced with a white crested black, the offspring would be mostly white. Those chicks could be pure buff laced, but they look a little more reddish than BL chicks usually are, at least from my experience. But definitely some buff laced in them.

#4 is probably candy corn crossed with white crested black or blue, unless there is the possibility of gold laced parents.

5 is maybe white crested black, but could also be WCB crossed with candy corn if the candy corn was the female in that cross.

Hope this helps!
