My top choice now is A. F is/was also an option.

C. has been the way I've been doing it. I just had a mid-december hatch and have some due hatch January 1st.
E. I'd be open to at some point as I would like to bring in new genetics. And I'm thinking a new rooster at some point. I'd love a silkie rooster.
F. Craigslist: I recently did for quail and ended up with some roughed up birds in over populated conditions. So I'm not a fan of it. But I've had great experiences with finding goats there. It may be a good place for getting chicks but not hens.

Broody hens are always my first preference. Buying day olds from the Grange or direct from the hatchery are second.

I usually get my chicks buy ordering them online. Also, I try to make time to go to the flea market once a month, lots and lots of birds and livestock there to choose from!
